KUT Live: An Evening with Hayes Carll

Hayes Carll may not be a household name…yet. But there’s every indication that may just be a matter of time. The Houston-born singer-songwriter’s often compared to the likes of Townes van Zandt and Ray Wylie Hubbard; his most recent album, Trouble in Mind, won rave reviews, including Americana Song of the Year honors for “She Left Me for Jesus”. At a recent event for KUT members in Austin City Limits’ legendary ‘Studio 6A’, Hayes delivered an unforgettable performance mixing powerful, often poignant songs and some truly hilarious storytelling.
