A purveyor of “sloppy hi-fi”, San Francisco’s John Vanderslice uses analog instruments to get a richer, rawer sound. Lately, he has hewn toward more melodic pop and his new album Romanian Names, features shorter, more up-tempo tunes. You can hear John Vanderslice play live in Studio 1A Tuesday at 2:05 p.m. on Music with Jay Trachtenberg.
