Edwin McCain Performs Tonight at One World Theater

June 11, 2009 6:00 am by: Laurie Gallardo

Singer-songwriter Edwin McCain made his debut in 1993 with the album Solitude, as the Edwin McCain Band, offering a blend of folk, rock and southern soul inspired by his hometown of Greenville, SC. His single “I’ll Be,” from the album Misguided Roses, made a huge splash in 1997-98, and continues to be one of the all-time fan favorites to this day.

McCain was born and raised in Greenville, where he still resides today. His first musical experience was singing in the church choir, in which he learned to harmonize and project his voice. He comes from a musical family, but the day his father warned him to never be a musician pretty much sealed his fate. Nothing was going to stop McCain from doing what he loved. It was in his blood.

You can see McCain play tonight at One World Theater, 7701 Bee Cave Rd. He’s scheduled for two performances: 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Check the website for ticket information.

If you haven’t seen McCain live, word is that he’s quite the showman and delivers a stellar performance. Check it out.
