Teenager Killed by Austin Police Officer

A police officer shot and killed an African-American teenager this morning at an apartment complex in northeast Austin. The police officer says he did it in self-defense.

As KUT’s Nathan Bernier reports, the shooting sent a jolt of anger through a community already suspicious of police motives.
