Police Likely Will Charge Onlookers
As investigation into Monday officer-involved shooting death in east Austin continues, onlookers may be charged.
When tempers flared and items were thrown at police at shooting scene, arrests were made. Police Chief Art Acevedo said in a press conference, “You don’t get to throw rocks and bottles and punch police officers. That’s just not going to be tolerated. So, we will process and arrest our three arrests.”
Chief Acevedo says the officer who fired the shots is on administrative leave, while both A-P-D and the Police Monitor’s office investigate.
