Austin-based singer-songwriter Freedy Johnston has a busy summer ahead, so now’s your chance to catch him before he’s gone for awhile.

Johnston recently posted some great songs on his MySpace profile from his upcoming album Rain on the City, on the BarNone label, and is getting ready to embark on a summer tour that’ll take him North to Wisconsin, Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Des Moines for some acoustic sets; performances at the Steel Bridge Songfest from June 11th to 14th; then back East for a few more gigs before returning to Austin to play at the Continental Club on July 22 and 29.

Johnston’s last Monday Momo’s show, for the time being, is tonight at 8:30 p.m. Momo’s is located at 618 W. 6th St., just above Katz’s Deli. Toast him with good wishes for a safe journey, and enjoy a great performance.

Freedy’s pretty awesome.
