Song of the Day

Micachu and the Shapes: “Golden Phone”

April 17, 2009 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

The debut album from Micachu and the Shapes, called Jewellrey, is not necessarily easy to listen to (the typically crotchety Pitchfork gave the album a glowing review, but called the work “an enormous mess“). That being said, there’s something richly innovative and catchy to the London trio’s songs.

The band has been compared to The Beach Boys and (perhaps more aptly) Animal Collective.

Today’s song of the day is a tune from the new album.

It’s called “Golden Phone.”
