Song of the Day

John Vanderslice: “Too Much Time”

April 30, 2009 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

John Vanderslice has been producing indie-pop chalked full of soaring melodies since about 2000. He’s well known in the music world for his insistent use of analog sounds. In fact, Vanderslice operates an all-analog recording studio in San Francisco. Austin notables Okkervil River and Spoon have recorded there, and Vanderslice is credited as a contributing producer on Spoon’s 2005 release, Gimme Fiction.

John Vanderslice has a new album hitting record stores in mid-May called Romanian Names.

Today’s song of the day is a brand new, unreleased tune from the upcoming release.

It’s called “Too Much Time.”
