James Taylor Performs Tonight at Bass Concert Hall

April 23, 2009 6:00 am by: Laurie Gallardo

All you need to hear is a few bars, and you’re singing the rest of the song.

“Fire and Rain,” one of many hits from Sweet Baby James (1970), is part of a long list of favorites that legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor has written over the years. The Grammy award-winning artist was nominated this year for Grammies in the Best Male Pop Vocal (Wichita Lineman) and Best Pop Vocal Album (Covers) categories. Covers is Taylor’s 2008 album that features his full band covering popular songs from the 50s through the 70s.

There will probably be a great mix of cover songs and Taylor’s well-known hits when he performs tonight at Bass Concert Hall, located on the UT campus at Robert Dedman Dr. The show begins at 8 p.m. Check the UT Performing Arts Center website for ticket information.
