Great Lake Swimmers Live – April 11, 2009
With origins in Ontario, Canada but now based in Toronto, Great Lake Swimmers’ lead singer and songwriter Tony Dekker says he pulls much of his inspiration from Gram Parsons and Hank Williams, but writers and critics often liken their sound to more modern artists including Nick Drake, Red House Painters and Iron & Wine. This year’s full-length and fourth from the group Lost Channels features tender, pastoral songs with pedal steel, delicate acoustic guitars and smooth vocals from Dekker and the band. Listen to Great Lake Swimmers live on Folkways.
