Gov. Perry Issues Swine Flu Disaster Declaration

With 16 confirmed cases and now one death from swine flu, earlier today Texas Governor Rick Perry issued a disaster declaration for the entire state of Texas.

There are two additional cases in Texas where the sick person is in critical condition. One of those cases has been confirmed as swine flu…the other has not but expected to be swine flu.

KUT will have more on the state’s response this afternoon during All Things Considered.
