Foresters Concerned about Leafless Trees

Trees on the Galveston Island are showing a lack of new leaves this spring. That has the Texas Forest Service worried.

Officials think it’s a sign of the damage done by Hurricane Ike last September.

The Galveston County Daily News reports that the soil had high levels of salt from the hurricane water, making it difficult for trees to absorb fresh water.
