Community Protests Highland Mall Closing

About a hundred people lined the Highland Mall sidewalks to protest the mall's early closing last weekend.

Highland Mall closed at 2 p.m. on the Saturday of the Texas Relays. Large crowds usually gather at the mall during the event weekend. The mall manager said the closing was a decision based on security. But as KUT’s Erika Aguilar reports protesters feel like there was a bigger underlining message.
