Changing Charter Amendment Rules
The City of Austin has had a handful of charter amendments come before voters over the last few years.
Including last year’s “Stop Domain Subsidies” proposition that would have stopped city-promised funds from supporting the private shopping development. But a bill in the State Legislature would increase the number of signatures it takes get a charter amendment on a local city ballot.
