Song of the Day

Bill Callahan: “Eid Ma Clack Shaw”

April 20, 2009 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

Bill Callahan used to work under the moniker, Smog. But over the last few years, he’s been releasing material under his own name, and the result is a crisp, more melodically accessible sound.

Callahan just released a new CD, Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle, almost exactly two years after the release of 2007′s critically acclaimed Woke on a Whale Heart.

Today’s song of the day is the lead single to the new album. It’s called “Eid Ma Clack Shaw,” and the bass line in the song pays a noticeable tribute to David Byrne and Talking Heads.
