Barbara Jordan Stands Tall On UT Campus

The University of Texas at Austin unveiled the first female public figure statue on campus.

Texas politician Barbara Jordan joins the ranks of other civil rights leaders like Cesar Chavez and Martin Luther King on the UT-Austin Campus.

Sculptor Bruce Wolfe is the artist behind the Barbara Jordan Statue. Some of Mr. Wolfe’s notable commissions include a sculpture of Harry S. Truman in the Union Station Building in Kansas City, a portrait of George Shultz, former Secretary of State, and a sculpture of Barbara Jordan that stands at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
