Bajofondo: “El Mareo”
Bajofondo is a collection of eight musicians from Argentina and Uruguay. The band fuses Latin rhythms with hip-hop and rock and roll – but they shy away from the “electronic tango” label that’s been thrust upon them.
They’re often compared to Gotan Project, a musical collective based in Paris, perhaps because of the “world music” influences.
Bajofondo doesn’t make it to the States that often, yet the collective dropped by KUT just last week to record some live tunes exclusively for our listeners.
Today’s song of the day is a tune from that session.
It’s called “El Mareo.”
