Austin Gets Set for Stimulus Funding
The Austin City Council will hear a presentation at its meeting on Thursday, April 30, 2009 from city budget officials about plans to apply for federal stimulus funding.
The city has identified about 30 program areas in 11 different agencies where funding is available. Greg Canally is the city’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer. He’s overseeing the city’s efforts to secure funding from the stimulus package, primarily for infrastructure and social service needs. Canally says some of that money has already arrived.
