Arts Eclectic: Wiener Takes All

A few years ago, filmmaker Shane MacDougall decided to make a short documentary about competitive wienerdog racing. Once he entered that world, though, he realized there was much more to the story than a fifteen-minute short could tell. Eventually, he traveled to two dozen or so wienerdog races across the country (including a trip to Buda, Texas), and the resulting feature-lenghth documentary, Wiener Takes All, has already won several film festival awards. After a sold out screening in Austin a couple of weeks ago, Wiener Takes All will have an encore screening this Saturday at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar.
