TxDOT vs Lawmakers

Texas Department of Transportation Commissioners have authorized the use of about 1.2 billion dollars from the Federal Economic Stabilization Fund.

The action, on top of last week’s obligation of another 500-million for road and bridge maintenance, means the agency has dedicated all of its stimulus money on projects. These quick authorizations have been called necessary by TxDOT, but have drawn the fire of many lawmakers.
