It has been eight years since the State purchased the last round of textbooks. Then the economy was thriving. And the so-called “Permanent School Fund” was in the black. Now it’s not.
Shapiro and other lawmakers say that not buying textbooks is NOT an option. But the one point four billion dollars the State needs isn’t small change, either.
