Texas A&M System Awarded $50 Million Grant

Governor Rick Perry announced the grant from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund March 23rd. The money will be used to create a center to research and develop medications.

Governor Perry says the center will put Texas at the forefront of biotechnology research.

This is the largest grant ever awarded from the Emerging Technology Fund. The Texas Legislature created it in 2005 to advance new technologies and recruit top researchers.
