SXSW Artist ‘09 – Beach House: ‘Gila’
Beach House is a drony, art-pop duo from Baltimore. Victoria Legrand (organ, vocals) and Alex Scally (everything else) have been the belles of the indie rock ball for a couple of years now, based on their ability to let you in on their seemingly private performances.
But Beach House isn’t for the faint-hearted. They play on the listener’s insecurities. One critic called their song ‘Gila,’ today’s song of the day, ‘a funeral on a sunny day.’
