State Executes Murderer

Luis Salazar was convicted of fatally stabbing his former neighbor Martha Sanchez in San Antonio in 1997.

According to police reports, Salazar climbed through a window at Sanchez’s house and tried to sexually assault her, then repeatedly stabbed her in the chest.

Sanchez’s three children were at home at the time. The eldest was also stabbed in the intrusion.

Salazar was the 12th execution in Texas this year.
