Rust and Tumble

And that pain is the focus of a new book by a former fellow at UT-Austin’s Michener Center for Writers. It takes place in a Pennsylvania town ravaged after the steel mills shut down. Philipp Meyer’s American Rust follows two friends as they grapple with the consequences of a split-second moment of violence. Meyer says economic anxiety can weave its way into all corners of life.
