Can you find internet/tech stardom without having to move to Silicon Valley?

It’s just like dreaming of being a big movie star in Hollywood. But for techies at South by Southwest Interactive, it’s about being the next Flicker or Microsoft sensation in Silicon Valley. But do entrepreneurs have to move to Silicon Valley in order to have a successful start-up and achieve internet stardom?
