Is there a Disconnect?
Democratic lawmakers have once again publicly called on Texas Governor Rick Perry to use as much of the Federal stimulus money as possible.
An event on March 3, 2009 focused mostly on the expansion of the state’s unemployment insurance program…which would bring the state an additional 550-Million on federal money. Governor Perry’s press office was quick to point out he has not said whether he’s for or against any such expansion. But the Governor continues to rail against the federal stimulus bill to any and all who will listen. As KUT reports, some of the groups on which Mr. Perry uses his anti-stimulus speech are actually looking forward to the spending bill’s help.
