Five Potential Heroin Deaths In Austin

March 21, 2009 3:48 pm by: KUT Staff

Five people have died within the past week and police believe a deadly strain of heroin could be to blame.

Police say Austin usually sees one or two heroin deaths each month but five is unusually high.

The bodies were found in different parts of the city and were of different ages, too.

Police suspect the deadly heroin might have killed the people based on evidence and paraphernalia found at the scenes but they haven’t confirmed whether the people overdosed.

Police want to warn the danger of this drug and in particular this deadly strain of heroin.
