Double Murderer Executed
James Edward Martinez, convicted of gunning down his ex-lover and her friend in 2000, was executed March 9.
Police say James Edward Martinez was stalking 29-year-old Sandra Walton over a debt she owed when he opened fire with 27 shots from a high-powered rifle, killing Walton and her friend, Michael Humphreys, outside Walton’s Forth Worth apartment.
Police later found a storage rental unit in Martinez’s name filled with a cache of weapons, ammunitions and books on how to kill people and get rid of the bodies.
He is the 11th inmate to be executed this year.
