TV or Not TV
February 17, 2009, was supposed to be the day television signals switched from analog to digital.
But Congress voted to delay the switch to June of 2009. There had been concerns too many people were not ready and would have been left without a television signal. Two Central Texas pastors want their parishioners to do that voluntarily. DeChard Freeman of the Abundant Life Community Baptist Church in Pflugerville and Jack Worthy of St. Thomas Community Church in Austin want their congregations to go television free during Holy Week 2009 leading up to Easter. They want their parishoners to see what else they might be missing.
