Texas Soldier Dies in Afghanistan

Munden was killed February 16, after his unit was attacked in Paktika Province, Afghanistan. He was 35.

Munden joined the Army in August of 1991 and was on his second tour in Afghanistan. He had also served two times in Iraq.

No funeral arrangements have been finalized yet, but Munden will reportedly be buried near his wife’s family in suburban Buffalo, New York. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, two sons and his parents.

As of February 19, the Department of Defense reported that 648 U-S service members have died in Operation Enduring Freedom. 38 were from Texas.
