Temp Agencies as Economic Indicators
Temp agencies in Austin say the job market outlook today is slightly different from that of past recessions.
Even as the economy continues to sag, the local job market in Austin seems fairly healthy by comparison. Layoffs have not been as numerous here as they have been in other cities. The IT sector, for example, is occasionally hiring, despite recent cuts. Still, temp agencies are in high demand and they are even twittering and blogging about it. One blogger is Bill Kasko, the CEO of Frontline Source Group.
