Solar Power Push At The Capitol

The bipartisan group is headed by Senator Troy Fraser (R-Horseshoe Bay) and includes Central Texas lawmakers Senator Kirk Watson, Representative Mark Strama and others like Senator Leticia Van De Putte (D-San Antonio)and Senator Rodney Ellis (D-Houston).

Lawmakers announced a few bills that they have filed or intend to file. They say these bills will create incentives for solar power companies to come to Texas for instance or for residents to install solar power panels in their homes.

The group also says jobs lost in the semiconductor industry could be revived through the solar energy job creation.
