Perry Wants $260 Million for Water Projects

The governor wants to allocate $260 million to help speed construction of 16 reservoirs across the state. Perry also stressed the need for the state to clarify its eminent domain laws, which he says will become an issue as water infrastructure expands. The 2007 Texas State Water Plan predicts water demand will increase 18 percent over the next 50 years. The state population is expected to double to 46 million people during that time.
