Non Profits Hurt by Downturn, Too
The economic slowdown is also hitting Austin based non profit organizations. Many small local organizations are coming up with creative ways to get through a difficult year.
For over ten years, the Austin chapter of the American Friends Service Committee has focused on issues surrounding economic justice and immigration reform. Program coordinator Josefina Castillo says that in the past few months, she has had to curb some of their spending.
