This Saturday, February 28, Almost There Records, an independent label here in Austin that focuses on local artists, celebrates it’s fourth anniversary with The Pons, The Deaf Ears, and Militant Babies at Hole In The Wall. You might remember The Pons from our Texas Music Mixtape Vol. 1, which is currently available for free download here, or from their interview with us in December which can be heard below. Formerly Lalaland, The Pons changed names as they reached a breakthrough in their music. Subsequently their most recent album In the Belly of a Giant hit the top 10 for total record sales at Waterloo Records after only two weeks in the store. The Deaf Ears was created after the highly acclaimed Tammany Hall Machine broke up. Members went on to form The Deaf Ears and began recording their debut album, expected out in early 2009. Militant Babies is an Austin rock trio that has released two well reviewed albums.
