Schatzi Ends Hiatus
Austin pop-punk band Schatzi left the scene on a high note nearly four years ago, and comes back just as strong with a new album and a show at Emo’s with local favorite Cruiserweight. Schatzi’s fifth album, Snow Is For Saving Hearts, will be released March 1 and the Emo’s show is this Friday, February 27. The Schatzi line-up is the same one that toured behind 50 Reasons To Explode with Christian Kyle on vocals/guitar, Montez Williams on vocals/guitar, Mark Ford on drums, and Marc Fort on bass. Cruiserweight celebrates their 10 year anniversary with several Austin Music Awards nominations — Album Of The Year for their 2008 release Big Bold Letters, Artist Of The Year, Best Punk Band, Best Female Vocalist for Stella Maxwell, and Hall Of Fame. These two veteran bands of the Austin scene are sure to put on a show you won’t want to miss.
