Legislation Proposed for State Schools

Representative Patrick Rose, D-Dripping Springs, and State Senator Rodney Ellis, D-Houston, want to improve services for people with developmental disabilities. The two have filed legislation that proposes consolidating and closing some state schools. In December, the U.S. Justice Department reported that state schools and centers failed to protect residents and provide them with adequate health care.
