Song of the Day

Jessica Lea Mayfield: ‘Kiss Me Again’

Jessica Lea Mayfield is only nineteen, but she already has some powerful friends and supporters. The Kent, Ohio native began her career singing in her family band at the age of eight. And she put out her first EP at 15, called White Lies. It was recorded in her bedroom. As luck would have it, a copy of her EP fell into the hands of Dan Auerbach, chief songwriter and vocalist of The Black Keys.

Auerback liked Mayfield’s sound so much, he agreed to produce Mayfield’s first LP, With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, which hit record stores last year.

Today’s song of the day is a tune Mayfield recorded right here at KUT a couple of weeks ago.

It’s called ‘Kiss Me Again.’
