Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit: ‘Seven-Mile Island’

One-time Drive-by Trucker and full time songwriter Jason Isbell unleashed his sophomore solo LP, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit a week ago today. The eleven-song album picks up just where Isbell left off: dirty alt-country ballads and up-tempo southern rockers.

Today’s song of the day, a tune called ‘Seven-Mile Island,’ is the opening track to the new CD.

Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit are just one of the thousands of bands that will be meeting up in Austin in a few weeks at this year’s SXSW. Stay tuned to KUT and Texas Music Matters for all the SX you could ask for.
