Banjo picker, guitarist, mandolin player and songwriter Dustin Welch was born outside Nashville, Tennessee. Father and songwriter Kevin Welch moved the family to the city when he signed with Warner in the late 1970s. After being raised on the city’s sounds, Dustin toured throughout Europe and the U.S. with punk band Scotch Greens, opening for performers like Flogging Molly and Reverend Horton Heat. Since taking root in Austin, Welch released his Whiskey Priest EP, with a full length due this week.
