Fallen Soldier Left Journal for Son
First Sergeant Charles Monroe King was killed in Iraq in 2006 when his son was only an infant.
But Jordan, nearly 3-years-old now, is already getting to know his father through a lengthy journal his dad left for him. Dana Canedy’s book, A Journal for Jordan, is a mother’s memoir with excerpts from the journal written by the love of her life to her, and to her son. Canedy is a Pulitzer Prize winner and senior editor at The New York Times. She says her journalistic experience helped her search for the truth surrounding her soldier’s death. Canedy will be at Book People in Austin February 5th at 7PM.
