Song of the Day

Doug Paisley: ‘Broken In Two’

February 19, 2009 5:00 am by: Andrew Uhler

If citizenship had anything to do with it, Doug Paisley wouldn’t be producing ‘Americana.’ But then again, neither would Neil Young (or four-fifths of The Band, for that matter).

The Canadian singer/songwriter has drawn comparisons to crunchy folk artists Will Oldham (better known as Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy – with whom Paisley has recently toured) and, of course, to Canada’s native son, Neil Young.

Today’s song of the day is a tune from Paisley’s eponymous album that just hit record stores. It’s a perfect blend of folk, Americana and a little bit of country.

The tune is called ‘Broken in Two.’
