DeVotchKa: ‘How It Ends’
DeVotchKa takes its name from a word constructed by Anthony Burgess in the novel A Clockwork Orange (a devotchka is a young girl). The band’s sound is a sort of melding of Eastern European, Mariachi and American punk and folk. It’s something all its own.
The four-piece dropped by KUT a few weeks ago to play some tunes. Today’s song of the day is a tune from that session that was featured in the motion picture trailer for Everything is Illuminated.
