County Asks Governor for Help

In a letter dated February 17th, County Judge Ronnie McDonald asked Governor Rick Perry to declare Bastrop is in a state of emergency. He said his county is unable to deal with drought-related damages to its livestock and crops. The county’s asking for a task force to help assess agricultural losses and secure financial assistance.
