AISD May get $41 Million from Stimulus
The money would be distributed over two years.
$21.3 million would be Title 1 funding for low-income students in the Austin Independent School District. $19.5 million would go toward special education. The estimates are from the U.S. Congressional Research Service. Christy Rome, director of intergovernmental relations for AISD, emphasized those are just estimates and the district doesn’t know exactly how much it will receive in stimulus funding.
