$27 Million to Restore Governor’s Mansion

An arsonist set the mansion on fire in June. No one has been arrested. About $2 million in private funds have been raised for the restoration. The Preservation Board is asking the state for the remaining $25 million. Some lawmakers said the price tag was too high at a time when the state budget is tight.
