What to do with UTMB
Medical facilities on Galveston Island have taken another post Ike hit.
The Shriners’ Hospital for Children has announced it is suspending reconstruction efforts, and will lay off staff at the end of March. This comes after the University of Texas Medical Branch facility had already stripped its operation to a bare bones staff. KUT reports on efforts at the state Capitol to prop up UTMB.
