Leffingwell Will Run For Mayor

Austin City Council member Lee Leffingwell announced his candidacy Saturday, January 17 at his childhood home in Central Austin.

There were early efforts to draft Leffingwell into May’s mayor’s race. But since he holds Place One on City Council, Leffingwell waited to announce his campaign so that his seat will be filled during the general elections instead of calling for a special election.

Leffingwell announced his candidacy at his childhood home in Central Austin because he said he wanted to show people he is deeply rooted in Austin.
