Joshua Morrison: “Home”
It’s got to be said: Seattle native Joshua Morrison has a pretty great story. He grew up in Seattle and started playing guitar at age 15. Morrison joined the Army as a young man, before his own music career was off the ground.
He’s an Iraq war veteran and currently still in the Army. The songs from his debut album, Home, were undoubtedly influenced by his experiences in Iraq (Morrison says he used to scribble lyrics during deployment and record them when he got back to the U.S. on leave).
This tune, the title track to Morrison’s album, is an evocative testament to a young man’s longing for a sense of home.
